Personalized PDF Document Accessibility Training Plan

Learning Outcome

By the end of this training session, learners will be able to take an accessible Microsoft Word document and make it available as an accessible PDF document using Adobe Acrobat Professional. They will have an appreciation of how accessibility of documents benefit users with disabilities and will be equipped to expand on their base of knowledge by learning to access additional help and resources independently.

Participants will learn about:

  • Evaluating the accessibility of a newly imported document into Adobe Acrobat
  • Using the Accessibility Action wizard in Acrobat Professional
  • Creating properly tagged and marked-up documents using various built-in tools
  • Addressing more advanced tools and considerations such as PAC checker to assess and convert to other accessible formats.


Anyone who is responsible for creating, modifying or distributing PDF documents within their organization.

Microsoft Documents Accessibility Training

Learning Outcome

Using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint you will learn how to create documents following accessibility guidelines (applicable Web Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 Level AA) and best practices. You will also learn how to test for accessibility using the Microsoft Accessibility Checker and manual testing techniques.

Participants will learn about:

  • The importance of creating accessible documents
  • Accessibility guidelines and best practices for creating MS Documents
  • How to change settings to make it easier to create accessible documents
  • How to test for accessibility using the Microsoft Accessibility Checker and manual testing techniques.


Anyone who creates or reviews MS Documents.

A Certificate of Completion is awarded to all participants who successfully complete the course. Participants also receive training guides and reference material.
